Janika Spannagel is a postdoctoral researcher at the cluster of excellence Contestations of the Liberal Script (SCRIPTS) at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. Her current work focuses on academic freedom norms and their contestations. Her PhD research dealt with the international protection and enablement of human rights defenders in authoritarian contexts.
