William Myers worked on child labor and related issues for both UNICEF and the International Labour Office before retiring from the UN. He also helped represent UNICEF in the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, where the framework for subsequent international work on climate change was established. Ever since, he has maintained an active interest in the role of children as stakeholders in climate-related decisions affecting their future.
