War, Conflict, and Human Rights

In January 2024, the United Nations reported the highest number of violent conflicts currently underway since World War II. Many of the most dire human rights violations — including rape as a weapon of war, recruitment of children to serve on the frontlines, and direct attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure — take place during war. How can human rights be preserved during a time of increasing conflict?
 
This series was created and edited with Daniel Marin Lopez, a lawyer, political scientist, and professor at Universidad de Los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia). He is currently a Transdisciplinary PhD Researcher at the National University of Colombia.
